Balance is Key

Where is the balance?

So what is the answer? What is it that God intended for our lives and how do we achieve it? Is it really meant to pour out our souls and give our dedication to the job that is paying our bills, but for most of us, be so out of touch and lack so much energy that we have little to none left to give the people we love the most? Is that what God intended? Where is the balance? Who is supposed to go lacking the undivided completeness and fruitfulness of our love? If we are called to serve one another and give back to people and serve them in a way that is pleasing to God’s eyes, isn’t it ok to sometimes not have enough left when we return to the people who matters the most? Or is our serving to the ones who need it most our way of showing God that He comes before the humans that we hold closest to our hearts?

Is it fair for those to ask for so much more when you are clearly on a path to serve? I mean what is the balance? Is it ok to go days, weeks, and months without speaking to a good friend over the phone or face to face? I mean again, what is the balance? Is it intended to have days when you can give more to some and not to others? Is it fair to call up a couple of people to talk life with and neglect the hundreds of others that you also care about whether they know it or not? What about the times when your personal space and time is needed for recovery time, but someone else feels as if they need you more? Is it ok to say No or to fulfill their request of needing this imbalance of time and energy from you as well? I mean.... what is the balance right? Lol. Listen, I don’t know if there is a short answer to this, but I do believe that God has a plan for everyone and although some of us are completely sure what it is that God has called us to do, No One is privy to the actual route He will take us on to get there. The people we will meet to get us through our storms, the relationships we will lose to test our patience and ability to forgive, or even the trials that we will experience when all we can do is call on the name of the Lord.

Point is this, I don’t think there is a secret recipe on how either of us can balance life Perfectly. I believe that as human beings that we have to expect one another to be imperfect and go sometimes lacking in some areas. There is Not a person in the world that gets it right every day of their life. We as a society should really stop being so hard on one another and have more compassion in our hearts for everyone’s unique purpose on this earth and the journey they are on to get exactly where God intended for them to be. Who are you to judge that process and the ugliness that it sometimes looks like to get to that destination? Instead we should show more love, dedicate more time to the things that matter most, and more importantly uplift one another every opportunity that we get.

Matthew 7:1-5 says, 1 “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2 For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. 3 “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4 How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

This should pretty much sum up how we should look at each situation from now on when a person disappoints us and our expectations because they are simply trying to do the best they can at this life we are given. No one should strive for complacency, but be sure that when more is expected from someone, that it is Always delivered in love because otherwise you are no better than what you expect of them.
